The Portrait is Finished - sort of

Here is a photo of Helena's portrait. It is sort of finished! I say 'sort of' because I may make some small alterations over the next few weeks. The red square that covers part of her mouth is not that bright in reality. It just shows up like that on camera. I am not sure why, but I think I need to re-evaluate that one.

I know that mom doesn't like this painting much. It is not her style, I think. Fortunately, Helena loves it and can't wait to put it in her room. That will have to wait at least 6 months, however, because that is how long it takes for oil paint to dry completely (at least, when it is thin like this. If it was thicker, it would take a year)!
