Bill and I went to The Living Planet Aquarium for our date last night. If you have been to the Seattle Aquarium or Sea World (both of which we have), then this little aquarium in Sandy, UT is really pretty lame.
Still, it was a fun and different thing to do on a date night! To be honest, our date nights have degenerated into dinner and grocery shopping lately. Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining about being able to go out with my sweetheart every single Friday night! I love that it is set in stone tradition! Date night for me, and pizza/movie night for the kids at home. All I am saying is that last night's date was particularly memorable. Thanks, Bill!

Holy freaking lobster, Bill!!! His claws are bigger than most lobster tails we've ordered at restaurants! Wonder if he'd taste tough? I joked that this monster lobster could take out my cat!
It is like a high end doctor or dentist office. I kept thinking about 'Finding Nemo' through this exhibit. What was the name of the pelican? Nigel? He was the only thing missing!
Oh, so pretty! It made me want to return to the Bahamas and go scuba diving again!
Such cute and graceful looking creatures! This little guy was only about 2 inches long. There were some 6 inch specimens in the next tank, but they weren't in photo worthy positions, so this guy got the spotlight!
Dinner before the aquarium was at Rubio's (I don't know if I'll ever get tired of that place!). After the aquarium, we wandered around REI for a while; coming away with just some handwarmers, a map, and some super cute wool socks. Man! That place is pricey!
Next was Walmart, where we discovered the same handwarmers were clearanced (end of season) for only 50 cents! Bill was miffed, but I just laughed as we bought a box worth. At REI prices, it would have cost $32.00. We spent $8.00. No wonder Walmart has a choke hold on retail in this country! We rounded out the cart with a couple of movies (New Moon and The Blindside), cat treats, and a couple gallons of milk.
Finally we went home. It was only 9:00 p.m. by then, but I was completely spent. I had stayed up all night the night before while the kids burned the beyond midnight candle doing late work. That is another story, though.
