This is our big Black Friday purchase for the year. Our old TV is a big ugly box that can't pick up the digital signals of today's TV broadcasting. We had an adapter box for it, but that box stopped working a few months ago, turning our TV into nothing more than a DVD monitor.
We talked it over as a family, and agreed to scale back our family Christmas gifts this year so that we could get this and a blue-ray player for the family room. The blue-ray player will access Netflix, and play my DVDs. When it gets here. I ordered the TV, the blue-ray player, a mounting system to bolt the TV to the wall, and an HDMI cable. The cable came first, then the TV, despite the fact that the blue-ray player shipped first and the TV shipped last. Go figure.
