Everything you ever wanted to know about me and my family...and probably some stuff you didn't!
Spin Class
Last night, when I entered the spin cycle room, I noticed immediately that someone else was on my bike!
Grrr!
Okay, so it isn't really my bike. But you know how it is, you get used to using a specific machine and everyone just sort of has 'their space' in the room?
It threw me off for just a moment, and I stood there just inside the doorway, forlornly looking around at the other stationary bikes and debating which one to try out. Not all of them work well, and about half of them don't have the clipless pedals that I need to go with my shoes.
The funny thing, though, is that once I chose a bike, it turned out to have better functioning pedals (my 'old' bike was very difficult to clip into) and a smoother ride. The tension knob was much more loosey goosey. My 'old' bike only needed fractional turns to ratchet up the tension. This bike needed full on turns of the knob to get the job done.
The lady who took my spot ended up leaving early, but by then I had forgiven her. We can be so silly sometimes about the most random things.
By the way, tonight was my last outdoor swim of the season. The bubble gets installed this weekend. The whole rec center will undergo a general cleaning for the week and re-open the following weekend. So, I'll have to do all my exercising outside next week and skip my swimming workouts. Once the place opens again, I will be able to return to swimming, just indoors.
