New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve was pretty quiet during the day.  I cleaned house some.  Bill, Helena, and I all weeded out our closets and fill several bags for the DI.

New Year's Eve is all about the evening celebrations, however.

Will went off to Dallan's house to hang out for a while.  Then they both went to the multi-stake New Year's Eve dance, which was held at our church building this year.  They both stayed for the whole dance, and Will danced each slow song with a different girl.  I am proud of him for that!  My son was not the slacker who stood by and did nothing while girls wanted to dance.  After the dance ended at 12:15, they went back to Dallan's house to spend the night.

Helena and her friends, Megan and Dallan (a different one), also went to the multi-stake dance.  First, though, Megan and Helena bought margarita mix and went to Megan's house to make a bunch of virgin margaritas.  I think they both wanted to see what it was like to 'pre-game' without actually doing it.  Helena said the margaritas were pretty good at first, but got nasty after a while because of all the salt.  While they were at the dance, Helena did her best to harass Will and his friends, even dragging Will's friend, Dallan, out on the dance floor for a dance.

After about an hour, though, they got bored and went to Dallan's house (Helena's friend, Dallan) to watch movies and the NYC New Year's ball drop.  Then she and Megan went back to Megan's house to spend the night.

Meanwhile, Bill and I went to Kirsten and Paul's house.  We watched two movies and actually missed the New Year by two minutes.  We ended up home and in bed by 2 am.  Both kids were instructed to be home by 10 am so we could go skiing.
