Here is the 3 week x-ray of Bill's arm. He is out of all casts now and in physical therapy. Since the injury involves a joint, the doctor doesn't want to keep it immobile longer than absolutely necessary. The longer it is in a cast, the more it will freeze up and lose mobility.
So now Bill is free to get his arm wet and to do the exercises his PT gave him three times a week. Bill is the most determined person I have ever known and I am sure he'll regain full range of motion. The doc and the therapist were both surprised at how much he can move already, so that is a good sign. Bill intends to return to work in two weeks... cutting the down time by a week. I am torn because, of course I want him back at work, our budget demands it. However, I worry that if he pushes too fast he'll re-injure it and we'll be worse off than before.
I think Bill should keep a little laminated copy of this x-ray in his wallet to show security whenever he plans to fly! What do you think?
