I have been exercising a lot lately.
You are probably thinking, 'Well, duh! You'd have to, to get ready for the races you signed up for!'
I finally found my motivator. I just have to financially commit to a race.
I am not willing to waste the money I spent, so I have to prepare for the race.
After more than 7 months of increasing exercise, I have not lost any weight. Inches, yes! That makes me VERY happy. But, I wish I could lose weight, too. I am still 30 lbs over my goal weight. And, yes, my goal weight is completely aligned with standard age/weight charts and doctor recommendations.
It really is about what you eat. I have to give up sugar.
I don't think I can give it up entirely. But I need to quit the obvious culprits. Soda. Ice cream. Chocolate. (Except dark chocolate! 70% cocoa would be alright)
Still. I look better than I have in a long time and it is time to celebrate that!
It is still a work in progress. After all, I have a long road ahead of me to Ironman. But I feel like I have a good start!
Everything you ever wanted to know about me and my family...and probably some stuff you didn't!

You are right that it is all about food and really sugar. All the white stuff in our diet really just has to be eliminated or eaten occasionally to lose weight. It is amazing how quickly the body will let go of weight as you change you intake. You're looking great, good luck!!! I am so proud of all you are doing!
Thanks, Becky... as I sit here eating a hard boiled egg on WHITE bread. LOL! I buy whole grain bread, but when I let my son choose, he goes straight for the fluffy white wonder bread. It was his turn to pick the bread this week. Next week we'll probably have sunflower honey bread since it will be Helena's turn. Or sprouted wheat. Those are her favorites.
