The Return of Date Night

We have been unable to go on a 'Date Night' ever since Bill's accident, for various reasons.  First, he was in no condition to go anywhere.  When he started feeling better, we had to watch the finances very carefully!

This week, we were finally able to go out on a date!

Bill took me on a very short little hike to a waterfall up some minor canyon above Salt Lake City.  He could probably tell you its proper name, I can't.  To get there, we had to drive up into the gated communities to the East of the city and 'hike' through a neighborhood to get to the trail head.  That was a new one for me!  Usually the trail head is already a bit out of civilization to start with.  This one was right between two very large homes.  Weird!  Still, it was AMAZING how quickly we left civilization behind.  In less than a 1/2 mile all city sounds had been replaced with the beauties of nature.  LOVE IT!

I was very annoyed when I downloaded the photos and realized there as a smudge on the camera lens!

The 'end of the trail' led us to this beautiful little waterfall/grotto.  I say 'end of trail' like that because there was an extension to the trail above and possibly to the top of the falls, but it was so steep... with so much scree on the trail... that we decided it was better not to risk it.

Still, when I turned around, I found Bill climbing in places he really shouldn't have been, considering he is only a few weeks out from destroying his elbow!  I watched him splay himself against the rock face, working carefully on getting back down with the limited use he has of his right arm.  I sometimes think he is completely crazy!

After the hike, we drove back down to our local Rubio's restaurant.  We haven't been in several weeks, obviously, so when Eva (the manager) saw us, she must have been very happy because she gave us our meal for free!  It is really our 'hang out'.  If you are looking for Bill and I around dinner time on a Friday evening, try Rubio's!  And, I have to confess, later in the evening, Bill took our son, Will, back for dinner, as well.  We did pay for that one!

You must conjecture from this that our finances must not be too dire, if we are willing to eat out.  We are still not out of the woods, but we are able to meet our bills enough to be able to have one evening out in the midst of it all.

I am looking forward to our next date!
